Brundage Mountain McCall

Dust off those ski boots and head on over to Brundage Mountain, because winter has arrived! Well, not quite officially. But at least some of the slopes are primed for skiing. Last weekend, a blanket of snow — 12 inches to be exact — draped our neighboring mountain, setting the stage for a Thanksgiving weekend opening event. Brundage invites locals and visitors alike to come down to the mountain this Saturday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and be the first to hit the slopes this season. While the entire mountain isn’t officially open just yet, guests can take a ride on the Easy Street chairlift, which offers access to the mountain’s learning area and beginner slopes.

Chairlifts are free for children ages 11 and under. All other skiers or riders pay just $12 per lift ticket. The ski resort will have individual and group lessons available, as well as daycare, equipment rentals and a variety of food and drinks available.

Though the mountain still needs another 4-10 inches of snow to completely open, the weather forecast looks promising for an official opening very soon. For one added push, Brundage and Salmon River Brewery invite families to join them for their annual Pray for Snow party in downtown McCall this Friday, Nov. 28, beginning at 6:15 p.m. Located at the Salmon River Brewery, the free party is open to all ages and will feature live music from Boise-based band Great Bait. For those interested in making a weekend of the event, book a stay at Shore Lodge. Please stay tuned for Ski & Stay packages, which will be available for online booking very soon!
