The Fourth of July holiday weekend seems to serve as the true kick-off to summer in McCall. With warmer weather and endless events it is the perfect time to pay a visit to the area. While we enjoy the small-town atmosphere that McCall boasts for much of the year, having five to six times as many people in town this weekend brings an energy and excitement that we look forward to every year.
The spirit in McCall during this time is always electric, bringing together locals and visitors alike to celebrate our country and our community. Everywhere you turn there is something to be a part of and plenty of ways to enjoy the holiday weekend. Here are just a few of the fantastic things that you can be a part of this Fourth of July:
- Spend your days in the waters of Payette Lake. From boating to fishing to water sports, Payette is the heart of the action so consider spending the day lakeside and soaking up the summer sun. Do note, however, the lake does become incredibly busy this weekend so if you’re looking for a place to park the boat, try to get an early start.
- Enjoy the waters with or without a boat. The patio at the Lake Grill at Shore Lodge is officially open and offers the best spot in town for summer dining. Enjoy fresh, seasonal dishes by Chef Eric Gruber served up on the waters of Payette. Whether you’re coming by land or by sea (well, by lake) definitely plan on enjoying a meal at the Lake Grill where the views are just as incredible as the food.
- Downtown McCall will be bustling all weekend long with visitors enjoying the sun and fun of city activities. Saturday night, head down to Salmon River Brewery for a live show by Voice of Reason at 7 p.m.
- Shore Lodge will be hosting its annual July 4th Barbeque on Monday evening for resort guests and community members. Come mingle with friends, enjoy great food and be sure to stick around to watch the fireworks show later that night. For more information call 208-634-2244.
- We all know that Fourth of July often centers around fireworks. The City of McCall will be launching the traditional firework display come nightfall on Monday, July 4. Be sure to steal a spot in Legacy Park or on the shores of Payette and enjoy the show!
Those are just a few of the great ways to spend your holiday. How do you plan to celebrate? We can’t wait to see you all in McCall! Happy Fourth, friends!
