Culinary Festival

Idaho’s favorite foodie free-for-all returns for its third year, and it’s going to be hotter than ever. The Shore Lodge Culinary Festival fuses gourmet food and elegant wine with a twist of competition from Friday, April 1 to Sunday, April 3.

The Shore Lodge starts to heat up Friday night with four simultaneous cooking classes led by our star chefs (Chef Wiley Earl of Lucky Fins & Smokin Fins; Chef Luis Flores of Chandlers Steakhouse; Chef Julian Greaves of Whitetail Club; and Chef Chris Kastner of CK’s Real Food). An intimate Meet the Chefs Welcome Reception will follow for guests to rub elbows with fellow food fanatics alongside the featured chefs. .

Saturday morning kicks off with the excitement of the Culinary King of the Mountain Competition from 10am to 1pm. This fast-paced Chopped-style competition pits the four chefs and their teams against each other as the judges keep a sharp eye on the action. The chef teams have 30 minutes to create an incredible dish with the selected ingredients for each round. During the competition, our signature Farmers and Fair Trade Market is open to the public, providing a snapshot of produce, wines and culinary products from local vendors in the lower pavilion.

You won’t want to miss the Wine Education Class later in the day. Head to The Narrows at 3pm to learn deductive tasting methods through a series of guided samplings.

The Winemaker’s Dinner starts at 6:30pm. This collaborative session brings the four chefs together again for a bespoke meal featuring dishes that pair with a stunning selection of wines from Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery in Napa Valley.

The weekend’s Farewell Brunch starts at 9 on Sunday morning. Learn to make the perfect omelet with protips from the chefs, while enjoying champagne drinks.

Throughout the weekend, food and wine-centric movies like Ratatouille and Julie & Julia will play in the Ford Theater with savory snacks and sip-worthy wines.
