A perfect steak, a gorgeous lake view and a wonderful glass of red wine. Welcome to a night at The Narrows. Regionally renowned for locally-focused cuisine, The Narrows restaurant here at Shore Lodge is also home to a wonderful selection of vinos hand selected by manager John Wood. Today, John uncorks some insight into one of the wines on his mind
This wine is another of the fondly labeled ‘wallitages’ as it includes a little delicious Northwest Syrah along with the classic Bordeaux grapes Merlot, Cabernet Saugvignon, and Petit Verdot, or Cabert Franc. It is an easy-to-fall-in-love-with winter red. Not over the top, good as a stand-alone swiller and delicious with food. It’s another one of those Washington reds that are pure in fruit, balanced on the palate and have enough acid back bone to not be flabby. Along the lines os some of our other favorites, Wild Z is similar to Trutina, Maninna Cellar’s Cali and Gordon Brother’s Kamiak.
Be sure to visit us in The Narrows and enjoy some sips of this exceptional blend. Not only does it pair beautifully with our chef’s cuisine, but it also pairs well with live music, which you can enjoy every Sunday and Monday in the Narrows Grill from 6-9 p.m. Cheers!
