June 2024

There is no ‘best time‘ to come and enjoy a stay at our lakeside resort in the Pacific Northwest. The arrival of fall signals a scenic landscape change that one must see to truly admire. Winter marks the start of exhilarating downhill thrill adventures to be chased at Brundage Mountain. While the onset of spring allows for fewer crowds and warmer weather. But something specifically about spending summer at our mountain lake getaway is indescribable unless you have experienced it yourself.

As Brittany Burgess, Revenue Manager / Marketing Coordinator at Shore Lodge, stated, “Summer in McCall is a tradition within itself.” Our charming town buzzes with the carefree spirit of the season as it welcomes all seeking the tranquility and serenity of the mountains as their getaway destination. Attracted by all the recreational pursuits and timeless traditions that await, what isn’t there to do in summer in McCall? Off-Site Excursions

Kayaking in McCall, Idaho

Summertime in McCall is best spent exploring the great outdoors. With so much to do, start by taking your pick between on-land, on-water, or by-air adventures.

Trailblaze with the entire family through picturesque hiking trails leading to roaring waterfalls such as Goose Creek Trail or hit the gas on your ATV/UTV as you buzz through the off-beaten paths of McCall’s backcountry. For those who’d rather spend their time lakeside, glide through Payette Lake with a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Or, if you’re in search of some speed, rent a jet ski or boat to explore all 5,330 acres of our glacier-carved lake. For the adventurous spirits unafraid of soaring heights, McCall Aviation is within a two-mile radius of Shore Lodge. Providing private charter flights, allowing passengers to fly over rugged mountain peaks, elongated valleys, and rippling rivers to explore McCall from a bird’s eye view.

On-Site Adventures

The Cove at Shore Lodge

While venturing into the untamed rugged expanse of the West is adventure thrilling, sometimes, lounging and decompressing is the adventure one seeks.

Lakeside or poolside? That is the big question around here. Lounge poolside and seek shade among the pool umbrellas and the towering Ponderosa Pines. Beat the heat by ordering refreshments from the seasonal pool bar or taking a dip. If you prefer direct access to one of McCall’s most prized treasures and unobstructed views of mountain lake vistas, lounge on our private beach alongside Payette Lake. Enjoy beachside service as you hear the tranquil waters crash along the shore.

Unwind with panoramic views of the Salmon River Mountains at The Cutwater on Payette Lake’s outdoor patio during breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Savor their new dinner menu add-ons inspired by the Mediterranean, such as the Pan Seared Halibut. Or discover where luxury meets adventure at The Cove. Rather than exploring the hundreds of hot springs that call Idaho home, submerge yourself in our hot spring-inspired indoor/outdoor saltwater immersion pools for an adventure like any other.
